If you apply for a loan or a new account we ask you to provide personal
information. As a trusted financial institution, we collect, retain, and
use nonpublic personal information about individual customers, as allowed
by law, to provide products and services to our customers. We may collect
nonpublic personal information from such sources as:
- Applications or other forms;
- Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates, or others;
- Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency; and
- Information that we receive in response to requests we make to third
parties about you or to confirm information that you have provided to
us, particularly in the process of evaluating applications for loans
and new accounts.
We do not disclose any nonpublic information about our customers, or
former customers, to anyone, except as permitted by law. We may exchange
such information with our affiliates and certain nonaffiliated third parties
(under limited circumstances) to the extent permissible under law to service
your account, offer you products or services we believe you may find valuable,
report to credit bureaus, manage risk, and other financial service related

We may disclose the following kinds of nonpublic information about you
as permitted by law:
- We may disclose information that we receive from you on a credit
application such as your name and address;
- We may disclose information that we receive from you on an application
such as deposits or loans that you have with other financial institutions,
or your employment;
- We may disclose information that we receive from you on an application
such as existing loan balances to be paid from our loan proceeds;
- We may disclose information that we receive from processing your
accounts with us; and
- We may disclose information that we have about you, such as your
name and address with third parties with whom we have joint marketing
agreements for the sale of insurance.
To provide our customers with products or services that we believe may
meet your financial needs, we may exchange limited nonpublic information
about you to nonaffiliated firms that conduct marketing services on our
behalf, including insurance companies, or with other financial institutions
in order to offer financial products and services pursuant a joint agreement.
Such information exchanged includes:
- Information we receive from you on applications or other forms, such
as your name, address, social security number, assets, and income;
- Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates, or others,
such as your account balance, payment history, and credit card usage;
and
- Information we receive from a consumer-reporting agency, such as
information relating to your creditworthiness and credit history.
It is the policy of First National Bank of Georgia to assure that the information
we have about you is accurate. It is also the policy of First National Bank of Georgia that information we have about you is highly confidential and should
only be available to persons who have a need for the information to properly
service your account, act upon your request or to fulfill that person's
job responsibility. First National Bank of Georgia has extensive security
procedures that assure that our confidentiality policy is followed. Customer
information is maintained in paper-based files and electronic databases.
All paper-based files are kept in a controlled environment such as locked
cabinets and vaults. We restrict access to every file that bank personnel
may need in order to obtain information in the file to properly carry
out his or her job responsibility. The bank's automation systems have
a complex set of passwords, user identifications and terminal identification
that limits each employee's access to information in the systems to that
information that he or she requires to properly carry out his or her job
responsibility. In addition, First National Bank of Georgia has a complex
security system surrounding its automation systems to assure that access
by unauthorized persons is prevented.
