Dear Valued Customers,
Welcome to your new bank – Community & Southern Bank (“CSB”). CSB is a newly chartered, Georgia-based bank that has acquired the loans and deposits of the First National Bank of Georgia headquartered in Carrollton effective at the close of business Friday, January 29, 2010. Over the next few months, we will be integrating the operations of this bank into Community & Southern Bank. We will keep you apprised of key information as we progress through this integration process.
What does CSB’s acquisition of the First National Bank of Georgia mean for you as a customer?
- Your deposit accounts remain FDIC insured and readily accessible. Your accounts have been automatically converted to CSB accounts at the same rates and terms. CSB deposit accounts are insured to the maximum limits allowed by the FDIC. You should continue to use your existing checks and ATM/debit cards to access funds in your accounts, and all direct deposit and electronic bill pay transactions will continue to be processed normally. We will advise you further on the timing of new CSB checks and ATM/debit cards in the coming weeks.
- You will see many familiar faces at our branches. First National Bank of Georgia employees will continue to serve you as employees of CSB. Our branches will continue with their normal hours of operation and will continue offering the same quality services you have come to expect for nearly 100 years.
- Your new bank is financially strong. CSB has substantial capital resources and a new senior management team with unrivaled experience in a variety of bank operating environments and market conditions. Our prime operating strategy will be to operate your bank in a diversified, risk-averse manner, while providing superior products and services.
- We are customer and community focused. We are respectful of the long history that the First National Bank of Georgia has had and the integral role they have played in the development of the communities it serves. Our intent is to continue in those roles, actively providing banking services for individuals and businesses while supporting the communities we operate in.
- Our intent is to provide you with exemplary customer service. Our success is based upon the quality of service we provide to our customers and upon the usefulness of our products and services to our customers. A prime goal will be to not only retain your current business, but to earn more of it. We believe you will readily see how we differentiate ourselves from our competitors.
- One final important point regards our loan customers. Loan customers continue to be bound by the terms of their loan agreements, and as such, should continue to make all contractual payments to CSB. Keep in mind that with substantial new capital, strong liquidity, and a favorable regulatory status, we fully intend to make new loans available to qualified borrowers.
With the recent turmoil in Georgia’s banking industry, many may have some anxiety regarding the safety of your deposits and the access to credit. Our view is that a bank with substantial capital resources and a strong, experienced management team provides individuals and small businesses with the opportunity to strengthen and satisfy their financial needs. Those are two distinct characteristics of your new bank, Community & Southern Bank. Thanks for your past support and we look forward to serving you in the future.
Sincerely,
Patrick M. Frawley
